New Distributor Appointments – Germany, Australia & New Zealand
Livac Pty Ltd has appointed two new distributors of the LiVac Retractor.
IFM-Gerbershagen (IFM) was signed on 25th January 2017 as the exclusive distributor in Germany. And Teleflex ANZ was signed on 23rd January 2017 as the exclusive distributor in Australia & New Zealand.
Germany
In August 2016 the owner of IFM-Gerbershagen GmbH (IFM) was introduced to the LiVac Retractor by one of its customers. The Company founder, Jochen Gerbershagen, called Livac immediately with a strong interest in the Livac technology. IFM completed independent product trials with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in Germany prior to execution of an exclusive Distribution Agreement on 25th January 2017. In discussions with IFM it was clear that the company has a thorough understanding of currently available liver retractors in the German market, suggesting, “surgeons are concerned about the risk of liver damage with current retractors”. The Company has established strong relationships with Livac target upper gastrointestinal and general surgeons.
IFM-Gerbershagen GmbH
IFM-Gerbershagen (IFM) was founded in 2006 by Jochen Gerbershagen a medical engineer and product designer, who quickly developed a passion for sales. IFM specialises in the distribution of innovative medical devices in Germany and throughout Europe and has specialist expertise in laparoscopic instruments. The IFM sales force comprises 20 specialist sales reps many of whom have been trained by global companies such as Covidien and Medtronic and are all experienced in selling to surgeons.
Australia & New Zealand
Similarly Livac has been in discussions with Teleflex ANZ and appointed Teleflex on 23rd January 2017 as its exclusive distributor in Australia and New Zealand.
Training of the Teleflex sales team has been scheduled for 2nd February and will be presented by Dr. Philip Gan and Richard Guise (Livac Product & Business Development Manager).

Teleflex is a global company and provider of medical technologies worldwide. The company was founded in 1943 and has a strong focus on the improvement and advancement of laparoscopic surgery while reducing patient trauma during surgery. Teleflex manufactures, distributes and acquires technologies for distribution worldwide and has a portfolio of products that are complementary to the LiVac Retractor System within is surgical division.
Distributor Termination – Matrix Surgical
On 14th December 2016, Livac terminated its Distribution Agreement with its previous exclusive Australian distributor, Matrix Surgical. It was agreed amicably between the companies the LiVac Retractor System would be better placed with an alternative distributor.
